It’s not Tom Brady’s skill that has left a void in New England, it’s his leadership.

For the past 20 years, the New England Patriots have dominated all of pro sports. It didn’t matter who got hurt, what coaches left or what level of talent the team had that year, they won constantly, to the tune of: 6 Super Bowl wins, 9 Super Bowl appearances, 13 Conference championship appearances and 18 Playoff appearances.

Head Coach Bill Belichick and QB Tom Brady were the only two people on all of those teams. Now that the Patriots are in year two without Tom, and they continue to struggle. Last year it seemed there was a large loss of talent, via players opting out because of COVID or moving to other teams. This year the team invested heavily for talent on both sides of the ball, and yet the results are the same. Did Bill Belichick forget how to coach?

What New England is experiencing “Real Time” is that everything rises and falls on leadership. This is a famous John Maxwell quote and it’s absolutely true, be it Pro Sports, the business world or your marriage. Great leaders get great results. Interestingly enough, people rarely point to leadership when things are going well, they typically look at talent, market conditions or claim it’s luck. The reality is, it’s all about leadership.

The question is, how is your leadership? Are there area’s you can improve? Write down one thing you can do right now to improve your leadership. Now Take Action on it, you will be so glad you did!
